What a slug is and why it matters

The slug is the final part of the URL that identifies a specific page, for example seo-services-torino in torinoseo.com/seo-services-torino/. A short, descriptive slug made of keywords helps users and search engines understand the page content before they even open it, and improves click-through rates from search results.

How to use it

Type the title in the field: the slug is generated automatically. The tool converts accented letters (à, è, ì, ò, ù) into their ASCII equivalents, lowercases everything, removes symbols and punctuation, and replaces spaces with hyphens. With the option enabled it also removes the most common English and Italian stop words (the, and, for, di, la, per...) that add no SEO value. Press "Copy" to put the slug on your clipboard.

Best practices

Keep slugs within 3-5 words, use only hyphens as separators (never underscores or spaces), avoid unnecessary dates and parameters, and include the main keyword. Once a page is published, avoid changing its slug without setting up a 301 redirect.
